Inspired Entertainment, Inc. (“Inspired”) (NASDAQ: INSE) today celebrates the success of its Virtual Grand National 2018, which saw the predicted winner, Tiger Roll, finish in first place in the live event at Aintree.
Following an exclusive long term partnership with Carm Productions and The Jockey Club, Inspired’s Virtual Grand National 2018 was broadcast for the first time on national television in the UK on Friday evening ahead of the live event on Saturday afternoon.
The virtual race, which was uniquely developed to feature the 40 declared runners and riders from the 2018 Grand National field, used complex data algorithms to eventually predict Tiger Roll as the winner of the 2018 Grand National.
‘Predicting the result of one of the most unpredictable races in the sporting calendar was a challenging proposition, however I’m delighted to say that the strength of the algorithms which we used to create the Virtual Grand National have done exactly that,’ said Steve Rogers, Chief Commercial Officer Digital Games, Inspired, ‘Last year the winner of the Virtual race, Cause of Causes, came second in the live event and this year we have gone one better,’ he added. ‘We have had an incredible response to this project from our customers and the racing community; such is the quality of the animation and graphics which we’re now able to produce, the line between the virtual and reality is ever tightening. It’s an extremely exciting arena to be working in right now.’
‘The Virtual Grand National 2018’ is now available on the ITVHub.
